Hey, I am a huge fan of Soundgarden and decided to join this community. I saw the advertisement on the Layne Staley community. Maybe soon the community will be alive and rapid *advertisement helps*.

I'm back.

I haven't even had internet access in quite a while, so I've been pretty much absent from the LJ community. I actually saw this place advertised in 90smusic... then remembered, didn't I post something here a long time ago?

Anyway, it's good to be back.

This community is depressing me. I'm going to advertise it. I want this to thrive.

hey. I just joined this community, and it looks like its kind of vacant, not much going on. Any way we can kick it up and make this an awesome Soundgarden fan community? They deserve it

Um... welcome to The Soundgarden...
Hello all... my name's Dan, I kinda found this community out there while looking under 'grunge'... and it was pretty much empty. So I figured, why not just post something here? Maybe get things started? Here goes.

I missed most of the 90s, being born in '85 and all. I only discovered Soundgarden around '97, and by that time they were pretty much kaput. The first album I bought was "A-sides", which provided me with a nice overview and fuelled my passion for their dark riff-heavy metallic sonatas. Since then, I have evolved into a full-blown Soundgarden fan, although I doubt I am as obsessed as the person who started this community and disappeared.

Here's a few things I'd like to say:
-Soundgarden would still be making interesting music now if they were together
-I think the stuff from the Hiro Yamamoto days (i.e. Screaming Life, Fopp, Louder Than Love, Ultramega OK) is slightly cooler than the rest.
-Circle of Power... that's what you get when you let your bassist sing. Having been in a band myself, I know this to be true.
-Audioslave is great, but not as great as either Rage or Soundgarden.
